Yay for a long holiday weekend! Here are some events for the upcoming weekend - happy bday to the US of A!

 

**During the month of July children are invited to bring their gently worn dolls, stuffed animals, blankets, or any other "Woobie" to any Ace Tailors location to be repaired for a $10 suggested donation, to benefit the Austin Children's Shelter.**

 

FRIDAY THE 3RD

• At 10:15 am, the Southeast Austin Community Branch and the Terrazas Branch Libraries have storytime
• At 11:30 am, preschool storytime begins at the Wells Branch Community Library
• At 6:30 pm, join many Austin families at Central Market North for the Kat Edmonson Quintet

SATURDAY THE 4TH

• At 9:00 am, shop til you drop at the Austin Farmers' Market at Republic Square Park (4th & Guadalupe), check out the South Austin Farmers' Market at 2910 South Congress (this one actually opens at 8:00 am) and shop at the Sunset Valley Farmers' Market
• Also at 9:00 am, the 4th of July Pet Parade takes place at St. Mark's United Methodist Church
• At 10:00 am, an Independence Day Celebration kicks off at Pioneer Farms, Round Rock hosts a Frontier Day Celebration which features family activities all day long and Ruta Maya is the venue for Family Yoga with Cindy
• Also at 10:00 am, enjoy The Frog Prince at the Scottish Rite Theater
• At 11:00 am, unleash your Little Baker at the Austin Cookie Lounge's 4th of July-themed workshop or watch your little one create a Fun Firecracker at Lakeshore Learning
• At 11:30 am, BookPeople presents a Star-Spangled storytime
• At 2:00 pm, the Bullock Museum has free admission, thanks to Wells Fargo First Saturdays
• At 4:00 pm, head to the the Pflugerville Pfirecracker Pfestival (now that's a mouthful!) at Lake Pflugerville , the Cedar Park 4th of July Celebration at Elizabeth Milburn Park or the East-West Game Day Event at Palm Park
• At 5:00 pm, Summerfest San Marcos kicks off at the San Marcos Plaza Park
• At 6:30 pm,  join many Austin families at Central Market North for Venson & Lee and Central Market South for the Connor Forsyth Trio
• At 8:30 pm, join 100,000 of your closest friends at the Austin Symphony July 4th Concert and Fireworks

 SUNDAY THE 5TH

• At 10:30 am, Ruta Maya hosts Mr. Johnny and Sharon for its free Sunday kids' show
• At 12:30 pm, enjoy Milk Drive at Central Market South
• At 1:00 pm, listen and learn at storytime at the Faulk Library
• At 2:00 pm, enjoy The Frog Prince at the Scottish Rite Theater
• At 3:00 pm, Austin Vet Care will be special guests at the Austin Children's Museum for Science Sunday
• At 6:30 pm, Central Market North hosts Hard Proof Afrobeat
• At 7:30 pm, the free Hartman Foundation Concerts in the Park series continues at the Hartman Park, outside at the Long Center
